Who We Are

A small organisation with a very big mission

HopeLink World is a charitable organisation founded in Kenya, driven by one belief: a child's future should not be limited by the circumstances they were born into.

We work with orphaned children, children in care homes, and children from families facing extreme hardship — providing the practical essentials that keep them in school and give them a real chance at a better life.

We are not a large international NGO. We are a grassroots team of teachers, community volunteers, and supporters who believe that education is the most powerful tool we have for breaking the cycle of poverty.

Our Story

From Kenya, For Africa

01

The Beginning

HopeLink World began with a simple observation: children in our own community were dropping out of school not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked a uniform, a pair of shoes, or the small fees that stand between them and a classroom.

02

A Practical Response

We started by addressing those immediate barriers — school supplies, clothing, and educational costs. Simple things. But for a child on the edge of dropping out, they make the difference between a future and a dead end.

03

Growing Through Partnership

We partner with local schools, children's homes, community leaders, and volunteers who know their communities best. We believe lasting change is built locally — not imposed from outside.

04

Looking Forward

Our vision is to grow this work across Africa — reaching more communities, supporting more children, and building a network of people who believe that every child deserves the chance to learn.

Children facing hardship across Africa
Why This Matters

The Realities We're Working Against

Across Africa, millions of children are out of school — not because they lack potential, but because of circumstances far beyond their control:

  • Poverty Nearly 90% of children living in extreme poverty are in sub-Saharan Africa — and nine out of ten from the poorest households never complete primary school.
  • Conflict & instability Thousands of schools across Africa close each year due to violence, displacing millions of children from their education.
  • Drought & famine Climate shocks force families to migrate, and children are the first to leave school.
  • Orphanhood Many children lose parents to illness or hardship and end up in institutions with no support for their schooling.

HopeLink World exists to respond to these realities — one child at a time, with dignity and hope.

Our Approach

How We Work

We keep it simple, transparent, and community-led. Everything we do is guided by four principles.

1

Listen First

We work directly with schools, children's homes, and families to understand what each child actually needs.

2

Respond Practically

No bureaucracy. We provide the essentials — uniforms, books, shoes, school fees — quickly and directly.

3

Stay Accountable

Every donation is documented. We share updates with our supporters and honour every child's privacy.

4

Build Long-Term

We don't just get children into school — we support them to stay there, term after term, year after year.
